His Response to Her Challenge (10/1-10/10)

Alright. She challenged. I watched. And I'm glad I did. I have now confirmed that I haven't missed much over the last 4 years of not watching Grey's, and have also guaranteed that I won't tune in again.

Two seconds into my first episode back and Meredith & Derek are lying in bed fighting. What season is this? One? Three? Oh no, it's 8 and they're still at it. They are like the annoying, boring version of Ross & Rachel. Karev is still only a 5th year in med school? How is that possible? Chief isn't chief anymore, so I guess that's news. Slow day at the hospital? Don't fret. A timely human stampede at the convention center can give our favorite residents something to do for the next 45 minutes. Time for some zombie triage! And really, the forced male bonding at the site of Derek's new house? Please.

I suppose there are a few things I missed:

- Shepherd and Grey got married? But are they together?

- McSteamy is a McDad?

- Shepherd was chief, and quit, and now is building a deck on a new house?

- Who is the cute new girl, Kepner?

I get it. I can see how some people find this show entertaining. There's a good amount of drama and the writers do a great job of intermingling every single relationship (seriously, have they all hooked up/dated?). Fans can relate with the characters, and the show has been around forever. So enjoy it if you're a fan. But for me? I'll continue to pass.
