His Thursday must-watch (9/29)

Every guy needs to learn proper etiquette. But times have changed, and the average person just doesn't have a lot of need to know where to put the shrimp fork when setting the table. This is the exact dilemma that Andrew Carlson (played by David Hornsby) is faced with when he is forced to break away from old-school ideals to meet the needs of modern society and keep his job on How to be a Gentlemen (8:30/7:30c on CBS).

Enter Bert Lansing (Kevin Dillon, Johnny Drama from HBO's Entourage), the ultimate degenerate according to Andrew, but someone that understands what it takes to be a man's man. Bert is here to take a crack at helping Andrew reshape his life so Andrew can keep his job.

Honestly, I think Dillon is perfect for this role. If this character can build off of Johnny Drama even a little bit there is hope for this show. Throw in Hornsby (from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Dave Foley (The Kids in the Hall) and you have the early makings of a pretty good cast. Who knows how well it will all work together, but I'm definitely going to tune in to check it out.

  1. I'm going to try and be open minded here, but I have a bad feeling about this show. So bad in fact, I'm hereby going on the record as predicting How to be a Gentleman will be the first show canceled this season. How's that for open minded?

I will watch the show. I will wait until the closing credits to determine whether or not I hate it. And I will apologize to Him if I'm totally wrong. I suggest you watch tonight too, since the show may be canceled before episode 2. Okay, that's harsh. Episode 3.
